Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Magnolia Springs welcomes Baldwin County Deputy Sheriff, Deputy Derek Boone. Deputy Boone has 17 years of law enforcement experience, with the most recent 9 years right here in Baldwin County. His experience spans K-9, Drug Task Force, Patrol, and Civil enforcement.

Deputy Boone is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in zoology. He has also completed law enforcement training in SWAT, active shooter response, and control tactics.

In his introductory meetings with Mayor Koniar and several Council members, Deputy Boone emphasized his firm commitment to community policing and getting to know the exceptional people who live here in the Springs. So, if you see Deputy Boone patrolling with his window down, he just might stop for a chat with you. So, stop and say hello.

He is focused on traffic safety, which is good considering the increased traffic on CR 49. But he is also keen on drug enforcement and understands that drugs have become a substantial problem in LA (Lower Alabama) over the last several years.

Deputy Boone is married to Detective Leah Boone of the Gulf Shores police force. They have 3 young boys who keep them busy in their off-duty-hours.

When you have a non-emergency situation to report, please call the Baldwin County Dispatcher at 937-0202 so that a request for law enforcement assistance is recorded with the Sheriff’s Department. Emergency calls, as always, should be made through our 911 dispatchers for the fastest appropriate response.

Welcome aboard, Deputy Derek Boone!
